Annual festivals where primary school students across Turkey perform short plays entirely in English.
The INGED English Drama Festivals are annual events for primary school students aged 7–14. Schools prepare and perform original or adapted short plays entirely in English. Students take on all aspects of production: acting, directing, set design, costume, and stage management.
The festivals promote authentic communicative use of English, build student confidence, and foster creativity and teamwork. Teachers and students report the festivals as highly motivating, with strong positive effects on classroom engagement throughout the year.
The festival is held annually in Ankara. Each festival is a separate competition with its own participating schools, jury, and awards ceremony. İzmir festivals have also been held in previous years.
